Volkhovsky Puppet Theatre

The Volkhovsky State Puppet Theatre in Voronezh is located at Revolution Avenue, 50. The theatre has been housed in its own building since 1984, designed by architects N. Topoyev and A. Frolov with sculptors E. Pak and I. Dikunov; for which the collective received the Russian State Prize. On the third floor operates the Museum of Theatrical Marionettes named after A. A. Veselov. Valery Volkhovsky was the artistic director of the theatre from 1987 to 2003. The first performance of the Voronezh puppets took place in 1925.
