Saint Mitrophan Monument

Voronezh, Pervomaysky Garden

The monument to Archbishop Mitrofan was installed in Pervomaysky Park in the city of Voronezh and opened on May 24, 2003. The sculpture was created by Ivan Dikuno and Elza Pak with their sons. The archbishop is depicted with his right hand raised in blessing and holding a pastoral staff in his left hand. The pedestal is clad with black granite and adorned with four bronze panels featuring bas-reliefs and inscriptions. A distinctive feature of the composition is a bas-relief showing Pyotr I's blessing for the construction of the Russian naval fleet. The project architect is Vladimir Shevelev.
