Warfront Postal Carrier Monument

The monument to the frontline mailman was installed in Voronezh on Revolution Avenue, 25. A bronze sculpture weighing about 700 kg depicts Red Army mail carrier Ivan Leontiev, who delivered letters to soldiers during World War II. The prototype was based on a real person whose last addressed family triangle arrived in January 1944. The composition's author is Alexey Ignatov, with the sketch designed by the Moscow studio of military artists named after M.B. Grekov. In 2016, Russia's Post issued a postage stamp featuring this monument.
