Peasant's Log Memorial Complex

Memorial Complex "Peschanoy Log" in Voronezh is situated near Chebotareva Street. Here, during World War II, peaceful residents and Soviet prisoners of war were executed in an ravine. The complex includes the road of death leading to the execution site, a granite staircase to the burial ground where 452 people rest, and 452 gravestones on the burial plaza. Symbolic gates of the memorial are marked by two commemorative signs on either side of the ravine. Special attention draws the granite staircase and the dirt road recalling tragic past events.
