Vladimir Regional Scientific Library

The Vladimir Regional Scientific Library named after Maxim Gorky is located at 3 Dzerzhinskogo Street, Vladimir. Founded in 1897 as the Vladimir City Public Library, it has undergone several stages of development: since 1834 it traces its history back to the first city public library, became the central gubernatorial library in 1922, and after the formation of the Vladimir region in 1944 acquired an oblast status. Today, the library serves as a methodological center for all libraries in the region and is managed by the regional Ministry of Culture.
