St. Успенsky Knyaginin Nunnery

The Holy-Dormition Knyaginin Female Monastery is located in Vladimir on Knyaginin Monastyr Street, 37A. Founded in the XII-XIII centuries by Grand Prince Всеволод Большое Гнездо at the request of his wife Maria Shvarnovna. The center of the ensemble is the Assumption Cathedral with unique frescoes from 1648. Originally intended as a family burial place for Vladimir princess queens, after being closed in the 20th century, the convent was revived in 1993.
