Dmitrievsky Cathedral

Dmitrievsky Cathedral in Vladimir, built between 1194-1197 by Prince Всеволод Большое Гнездо, is an outstanding example of white stone architecture of the Vladimir-Suzdal school. Dedicated to St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki, it features over 1500 carved images of saints, animals and mythical creatures, making it unique among ancient Russian churches. The cathedral is included in UNESCO's World Heritage List under the name "White Stone Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal."
