VasilyevskyMonastery

Суздаль, ул. Калинина, 3

Vasilyevsky Monastery in Suzdal was founded in 1253 and dedicated to St. Василий Великий, becoming the only such monastery in Russia. After being revived in 1995, the main cathedral built between 1662-1669 and the Sretenskaya refectory church of late 17th century were preserved. The monastery is first mentioned in a record by the princess Maria of Rostov in 1253 and linked to events of the civil war of 1095.
