Suzdal Fortress
Суздаль, ул. Кремлевская, 20
The Suzdal Kremlin is an ancient fortified part of the medieval city surrounded by earthworks 1400 meters long built in the X-XI centuries. These earthen ramparts enclosed a territory of 14 hectares where once stood wooden walls and towers with gates. After a fire in 1719, the fortress was never rebuilt. Today, the kremlin is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site that includes the ensemble of the archiepiscopal court formed from the XV to XVIII centuries.
