Pokrovskiy Monastery

The Pokrovsky monastery is situated on the right bank of the Kamenka River in Suzdal. Established in 1364, it emerged as a significant religious hub of Rus' during the 16th-17th centuries. The architectural complex primarily took shape in the first half of the 16th century. Within its walls rest the relics of Saint Sophia of Suzdal, and notable women who became nuns resided here. Monks resumed their presence in 1992.
