Ulyanovsk Regional Philharmonic Society

Ulyanovsk Regional Philharmonic was founded in 1944 and operates from several venues within the city. It hosts concerts featuring academic, folk and estradnaya music, welcoming leading Russian performers and musical ensembles. An estradnyy ensemble "Volga" operated under the philharmonic. The building is associated with architect Fyodor Livchak's project. Initially, the philharmonic emerged as part of the regional concert-and-estradnoe bureau and included a choir of Russian folk songs in its original lineup.
