Знаменский кафедральный собор
Тюмень, ул. Семакова, 13
The Знаменский кафедральный cathedral is located in Tyumen on Semakova Street, 13. It is the main Orthodox church of the city, founded in 1768 and consecrated in 1801. The cathedral is a monument of Siberian baroque and is known for its icon of the Virgin Mary "Znamenie", which saved the city from cholera in 1848. In 1904, it was supplemented with a northern annex. Inside the cathedral there are four bells that previously stood on lighthouses of the Far East. The temple stands out due to its architectural style contrasting with urban development.
