Znamensky Cathedral

Znamensky Cathedral in Tyumen is situated at Semakova Street, 13. It is the city's main Orthodox church, founded in 1768 and consecrated in 1801. The cathedral is a monument of Siberian baroque and has a contemporary appearance formed after the addition of a northern annex in 1904. The main relic of the cathedral is an icon of Our Lady "Znamenie", venerated for saving the city from cholera in 1848. Inside the temple there are four bells previously standing on lighthouses of the Far East.
