Yuri Erviev Monument

The monument to geologist Yuri Georgievich Ervyye was installed on Republic Street in Tyumen. Ervyye is depicted next to a large stone boulder with an engraved inscription highlighting the significance of oil for the region. The sculpture symbolizes the discovery of the Western Siberian oil and gas province under his leadership. The statue was unveiled in 2006 and created by artist Victor Afanasyev.
