Historical Square (Site of Tyumen Founding)

Historical square in Tyumen is the site where the city was founded. Here, an early Tyumen fortress was laid by voevodes Vasily Sukhin and Ivan Myasnyy in 1586. A commemorative stone is installed on the square and there is a monument "Conquerors of Siberia". From the platform there is a picturesque view of the Tura river and pedestrian bridge. Originally, the fortress was wooden.
