Tula Museum of Fine Arts

The Tula Museum of Fine Arts is located at Friedrich Engels Street, 64. It was founded as an art-historical museum in 1919; initially its core consisted of nationalized works from noble estates of Tula province and collections of the Tula Antiquarian Society. Today it houses over 23,000 exhibits featuring Russian and Western European art, including pieces from former owners' collections such as Bobrinskoy, Olsufevy, Gagarin and Obolensky estates. The museum actively adds contemporary art to its collection.
