The Veresaev House-Museum is situated in Tula at Gogol Street, 82. It is the sole surviving example of the city's townhouse. Here lived writer, literary critic and Pushkin scholar Vicenty Veresaev (Smidovich), who graduated from Tula Classical Gymnasium with a silver medal. The museum opened in 1992; its exhibition includes a reconstruction of the author's Moscow working study and operates a literary lounge.
