The stone in honor of Tomsk's foundation is located on Voskresenskaya Hill, an historical site of the city's inception overlooking the right bank of the Tom River at its confluence with the Ushakov River. Here, in 1604 by order of Tsar Boris Godunov, the city of Tomsk was founded. Today, the stone reminds us of a significant event in the region's history.
