Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral

Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral — the main Orthodox church of Tambov, located on the Cathedral Square. The stone building of the cathedral was built from the end of the 17th to the beginning of the 18th century and replaced the first wooden church built in 1636 upon founding the city. It is the oldest church in the Tambov region and an important spiritual and architectural attraction of the historical center of the city.
