Ascension Church

Екатеринбург, ул. Клары Цеткин, 11

The Voznesenskaya Church located at Klara Zetkin Street, 11 in Yekaterinburg combines elements of baroque, pseudo-Russian style and classicism. The building is situated in the historical district "Saint Quarter", near the Blood Altar Cathedral. After being closed in 1926, it was turned into a museum, which helped preserve the church until our days. Services were resumed in 1991, making it an active parish of the Ekaterinburg Diocese. The main relic of the church is a fragment of St. Simon of Verkhoturye's relics. The church stands on the Voznesenskaya Hill, one of the highest points in the central part of the city.
