Grizzled Urals Monument

Yekaterinburg, Oborony Sq

The monument "Sedoy Ural" was installed on Defense Square in Yekaterinburg. Its central figure is a bronze knight-craftsman with a sword in his right hand, created by sculptor Gevork Gevorgyan. The monument, originally named "Symbol of Victory," was opened in May 2005 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of victory. The knight-craftsman represents the Ural residents who went to the front and the inhabitants of the rear area who contributed to the victory. The monument was assembled at the Materials and Metals Research Institute according to the project of "Projectstalkonstruktsiya" institute. For its creation, a full-size plaster form was made in the shop of Uralsmash plant.
