The Beatles Monument

The monument to the group The Beatles was installed in Yekaterinburg on Gorky Street, 8. This is the first such monument in Russia and the third in the countries of the former USSR. The sculpture is made of cast iron and depicts silhouettes of the legendary British band's members against a backdrop of a brick wall. The opening took place on May 23, 2009. A quote from the song "The Love You Take Is Equal To The Love You Make" is displayed nearby. The idea behind the project came from participants of the Ural "Beatles Club", with artist and sketch author being Vadim Okladnikov, and architect Artëm Aleendeev. The creation of the monument cost 2.5 million rubles.
