Great Zlatoust Bell Tower Church of Saint Maximilian Martyr

The Church-Belltower "Bolshoy Zlatoust" is situated at the intersection of 8 March Street and Malysheva in Yekaterinburg. This building, also known for its numerous bells (total ten), was initially planned to be much larger but ended up being scaled down according to the 1843 design. The bell-tower was constructed in pink-light-brown color, similar to the neighboring St. Spirit's Church ("Malyy Zlatoust"). A distinctive feature of the construction is its complex history of planning and building, marked by repeated rejections from Russian authorities to approve the designs. The ringing of the church-belltower's bells could be heard far beyond Yekaterinburg.
