Red Rocks
Kislovodsk, Kislovodsky National Park
Red Stones - unique natural formations in Kislovodsk National Park. Their reddish-brown color is due to porous mountain rock saturated with iron-rich waters. Geological processes and millennia of nature's influence have given these stones unusual shapes reminiscent of ancient sea sculptures. It is believed that once there was an ancient sea here, and then tectonic shifts raised sand deposits from the bottom of the ancient lake.
