Kislovodsk Kurzhal, built in 1895, became the cultural center of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. Opened in the 1896 season as the most luxurious kurzhal of the Russian Empire, it hosted performances by famous artists such as Feodor Chaliapin, Leonid Sobinov and Isadora Duncan. The building located at Kislovodsk, Karl Marx Street, 1 originally served as a place for rest and entertainment, now it houses a philharmonic hall.
