Fedor Kon' Architect Monument

The monument to russian architect Fedor Kony was installed in Smolensk on October Revolution Street near Gromova tower. The sculpture was created by O.N. Komov under the guidance of architect A.K. Anipko. The monument opened in 1991 commemorates the master who led construction of Smolensk fortress wall in mid-16th century. The true face of the architect is unknown as his images have not survived.
