Monument to Defenders of Smolensk August 4-5 1812

The Monument to Defenders of Smolensk from 1812 is situated in Lopatinsky Garden of Smolensk city. It was unveiled on November 5th, 1841 commemorating battles on August 4th-5th of the same year. The project's author is Italian architect Antonio Adamini. On the base there is a list of Russian generals, casualties are noted for both sides, and on the sides stand French cannons from 1873.
