In the center of Smolensk, in Pioneers Park, near the intersection of Barclay de Tolly Street and Victory Square, stands the monument "Burnt Flower". It is dedicated to children-prisoners of Nazi concentration camps and is made in the form of a ball-flower from intertwined figures of children. The leaves of the flower consist of slabs with names of camps. Nearby remains a section of the ancient city fortress wall.
