Kutuzov — Smolensk Monument

In Smolensk, on Sobornaya Hill, there is a monument to Field Marshal Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov. A bronze figure of the commander stands tall on a pink granite pedestal, reaching full height. The opening of the monument took place on June 20, 1954. The project was created by sculptor G.I. Motovilov and architect L.M. Polyakov. Work on the monument began in the late 1940s. Nearby is another monument to Kutuzov - a bust in Heroes' Memory Square.
