M.I. Glinka Monument

In Blonye Garden, opposite the Philharmonic building, there stands a monument to composer Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka. Created between 1883-1885 on voluntary funds, it was designed by A.R. von Bok. The monument's opening took place on May 20, 1885. The composer is depicted at a music stand with a conductor's baton, surrounded by an lacework fence shaped like musical staff lines with bronze inscriptions on 24 excerpts from his works, designed by academician I.S. Bogomolov.
