In the square on the intersection of Dokuchayev Street and Tukhachevsky Street there stands a monument-bust of writer Boris Vasilyev. The sculptor is Valery Grashchenkov. A plaque on the pedestal is designed as open book pages and includes the date of the writer's life - from 1924 to 2013. The bust was unveiled on May 21, 2014, on his birthday. Vasilyev is known for his works about World War II and the military generation.
