A.G. Lopatkin Monument
Smolensk, at the central entrance to TsPKiO 'Lopatinsky Garden'
The monument to Alexander Grigoryevich Lopatin was installed in the center of Lopatinsky Garden, near its main entrance in Smolensk city. A 3-meter-high sculpture created by Pyotr Fishman was unveiled on October 2, 2015. Born in 1818, from 1871 to 1880 he served as Smolensk governor and in 1880 received the title of honorary citizen of the city. Under his leadership in 1878 an orphanage for boys from poor families opened.
