The "Russian Antiquity" Museum in Smolensk is located at Tenisheva Street, 7. Founded by Princess M.K. Tenisheva at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries, it became the city's first public museum. The exhibition includes over 1300 exhibits reflecting Russian folk crafts, ornaments, everyday life and clothing. The museum building, built in 1905 by architect S. Malutin, is an outstanding example of the Russian style in Smolensk region.
