Saratov Opera and Ballet Theatre

Saratov Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, founded in 1875, is the city's main musical theater. It hosts Sobinov Music Festival and actively works on operatic and ballet repertoire. The theatre's history begins with Gregory Gladkov's first public theatre opened in 1803 on Dvoryanskaya Street and the debut of the first Russian opera troupe in 1875. The stone theatrical building was designed by architects K.V. Tiden and A.M. Sal'tko.
