Saratov Radishchev Art Museum

The Saratov Art Museum named after A.N. Radishchev opened in 1885 and is the first publicly accessible art museum of the Russian Empire. Its collection was founded on the collection of marine painter Aleksey Bogolyubov, grandson of writer Alexander Radishchev. Construction was carried out by city architect Alexey Sal'tko. The museum plays an important role in the cultural life of the region and is considered one of the leading artistic institutions of the province.
