Saratov Regional Universal Scientific Library

The Saratov Regional Universal Scientific Library was founded on March 4, 1831 by Admiral N.S. Mordvinov. It is situated at Gorky Street, 40 in the city of Saratov. Throughout its history, the library has changed locations and originally bore the name of the city public library. Today it performs important information, educational and cultural functions, serving as the region's main repository. Since 1901, an Academic Archive Commission operated within its walls.
