Monument to First Teacher

The monument to the first teacher was installed in Saratov at the intersection of Moskovskaya Street and Solyannaya Street. The sculpture depicts the figure of a teacher and a pupil leaning over a book, symbolizing knowledge transfer and public education. The composition was created by Moscow sculptor Sergey Mikhailovich Volnukhin and before being moved it was next to a children's hospital. The monument was installed in 1996.
