Cosmonauts Embankment

Cosmonauts Embankment in Saratov stretches for 5.5 kilometers from Bolshaya Sadovaya to Predmostnaya Square along the Volga River. It was named after Yuri Gagarin and German Titov whose space flights were associated with this area. The older part of the embankment about 1.5 kilometers long starts from Babushkin Vzvoz and ends near the auto-pedestrian bridge. After the reconstruction in the 1950s it became the city's main promenade.
