Museum Square

The Museum Square in Saratov is notable for being where the historical center of the city began to take shape after it was moved from the left bank of the Volga in the 1680s. The square is named after the regional studies museum housed in Ustinov's mansion. It also features an ensemble of buildings including the administration of Ryazano-Ural Railway and Peskov's mansion. At the center of the square stands an architectural monument - Troitsky Cathedral, founded in 1689. Previously known as Gostiny Square due to the presence of a gostiny court here.
