Covered Market

The Covered Market in Saratov, located at 59 Chapaeva Street, is a federal architectural and historical landmark. The building, constructed in the style of the new Russian classicism, was laid in 1914 and opened on November 27, 1916. The market grew on the old trading square, which was called Drovyanaya or Lesnaya until 1837, and in the early 20th century, the largest Mitrofanovsky Bazaar in the city operated here.
