Samara Embankment

Samara Embankment is a notable attraction of the city situated along the Volga River. After shoreline clearing in the 1930s and extensive reconstruction from 2012 to 2018 it became one of the city's key recreation spots. Its total length is 4,168.9 meters; the pedestrian walkway with cast iron parapet stretches nearly 4 kilometers, making it a record-holder among Volga cities. The fourth phase features terraces due to the steep riverbank slope. There is also a restored "Ladya" monumental pillar completed in 2016-2018.
