Revolution Square
Samara, Revolyutsii Sq
Revolution Square in Samara used to be called Alexeevskaya. After the events of 1917, the monument to Tsar Alexander II was removed and instead a bronze sculpture of Vladimir Lenin by Matvey Manizer was installed. The monument's opening took place on November 7, 1927. Today, the square retains its compact circular shape, recalling the past with a monument symbolizing a new era.
