Square Kuybysheva

Kuybyshev Square in Samara - the central and largest square in Europe. It emerged in 1853 under the name Nikolskaya, later renamed to Sobornaya due to the construction there in 1894 of the cathedral Christ the Savior. In 1930 the cathedral was demolished and the square named after revolutionary Valerian Kuibyshev. Today mass events, concerts and parades take place here.
