Monument to Glory

The Monument to Glory in Samara stands on Victory Square and honors city aviation industry workers during World War II. It features a sculpture of a worker with raised airplane wings above his head. The figure towers atop a 40-meter pedestal looking towards the Volga River. A staircase leads up from the Volga shoreline to the monument. Nearby is a bas-relief called "Mourning Mother."
