The Big Drama Theatre named after G.A. Tovstonogov is located on the Fontanka River Embankment in the heart of Saint Pyotrsburg. Founded in 1919, it has become one of Russia's main drama stages thanks to outstanding leaders like Georgy Tovstonogov and famous actors such as Innokentiy Smoktunovsky, Oleg Borisov and Alisa Freindlich. Today, the theatre is led by Andrey Moguchy, continuing the traditions of high theatrical culture. Its auditorium can accommodate up to 1100 viewers.
