Lenin Square

Lenin Square is the central square of Ryazan. It arose in the 18th century on the site of former Grain and New Market squares. Now it passes through the city's historical center's main axis. Here there is a monument to Lenin, unveiled in 1957. Previously, the square was accessed via Moscow Street from which three other streets branched off at an angle. Regular layout of the square was approved in 1780.
