Yevpatii Kolovrat Monument

At Ryazan's Post Office Square, there stands a monument to Yevpatii Kolovrat, unveiled on October 18, 2007. The warrior is depicted riding a horse, his red granite pedestal reminiscent of the blood shed during the battle for the sacking of Ryazan by Baty's troops. The project architect is Vladislav Lavrentiev. Funds were raised through voluntary donations. Yevpatii Kolovrat has become a symbol of local people's steadfastness and heroism.
