Hram Spasa-na-Yaru

Ryazan, Petrova St, 14

The Spaso-n-Yar Temple in Ryazan was rebuilt after a fire in 1685. Originally, a wooden church of Preobrazhenie Gospodne stood here since 1626. The bell tower has characteristic shatrovoe finishing. The temple was closed in 1935 and returned to believers in 1995. The annual anniversary of its revival is celebrated on August 16th. In the old iconostasis there was kept an image of the Uncreated Savior, and before the revolution there was a chapel dedicated to nine Kizikian Martyrs.
