Pyotr I Monument

Pyotr I Monument in Taganrog is located on Komsomolsky Boulevard. The bronze statue cast by brothers Thierry in Paris stands on a pedestal with the inscription "To Emperor Pyotr I, Taganrog 1698-1898". The monument was opened in 1903 and is the last surviving original bronze work by Mark Antokolsky. The monument has been moved several times and now stands in Komsomolsky Square facing the sea.
