Церковь Покрова и Рождества от Пролома

The Church of the Intercession and the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located on Sverdlova Street in Pskov, is a unique architectural monument included in UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2019. This complex consists of two temples united after the victory of Russian troops over Polish troops under Stefan Batory in 1581. The name "from Prolom" recalls the heroic defense of the city. The complex is situated near the powerful Pokrovskaya fortress tower, mentioned by historian N.M. Karamzin as a symbol of Russia's salvation from external threats.
