Pskov Railway Station

Pskov Railway Station is situated on Vokzalnaya Square in Pskov city. The building was restored after World War II according to the project from 1945. It is connected with historical events of early 20th century: in 1917 a train carrying Tsar Nikolay II arrived here and his carriage where he signed abdication was present. The station played an important role during evacuation of over 45 thousand people during wartime. Since the opening of passenger traffic in 1859, the railway significantly influenced the economy of Pskov province. The last major reconstruction of the station took place in 2001.
